Artificial intelligence is pretty awesome. Back in my day, in college, I couldn’t dream of its powers. But now, we are approaching the two year anniversary of the ChatGPT’s launch (11/30/22). It continues to evolve, and some folks are still scared of it and perhaps rightly so.
Music to My Ears
My daughter is in the HighSchool Marching band (so was I – Trombone, since you didn’t ask) and so now I spend time at marching band contests. This led me to be talking to a HS band director, last weekend who’s name I will not use here, but let’s call him Mr. Stone. But we were talking about music, then Mr. Stone asked what I did. I told him we use AI to predict leads for Real Estate Agents. He got concerned.
“Artificial Intelligence will take my job.” He said. No way. There’s simply not a chance that AI wants to deal with high school band nerds. But – AI could make your job much easier – and perhaps better. “You could make your band perform better with AI” I said. We talked for 10 min about this.
I had not convinced him.
Fast forward to today, when Chelsey, who runs account management here at Revaluate sent me the lyrics to “The Prophet of Property”. She generated it with https://remusic.ai/en/ai-rap-generator. Now, I know Im a nerd from the 90’s era, but you gotta love this:
(Verse 4) Neighborhood trends, I decipher the code, Investment flows like my lyrical load. From the city skyscrapers to the quietest street, I’m the prophet of property, bringin’ heat to the beat.
So, I took those 4 verse’s of lyrics and plugged them into an AI Music Generator.
Here’s the result.
Woah. It’s not art, but that’s pretty nuts, no?
So perhaps the ol’ band director was right. Perhaps even art wont be spared. But in the mean time, I still think that those that leverage technology will gain ground on those that turn their backs on todays newest technology. I believe very strongly that to remain relevant in the future, Mr. Stone needs to adapt, and metamorphosize.
About the album art: That’s a 1988 Lincoln Town Car, like the one I drove in the 90’s. Sweet, eh?
