The top mortgage originator data has been released, and it’s been reviewed, revised and ranked. Here are the top 10 Loan Originators in the US for both purchase and refinance for 2021 according to 2020 data obtained from the Scotsmans Guide.
There are many ways to rank “top mortgage loan originators” but the industry standard is usually based on dollar volume and loans closed. Here we focused on the dollar figure – and the data shows that like the high price of real estate on the coasts, dollar volume leans east and west as well.

Shant Banosian with Guaranteed Rate and based in Massachusetts won with over $732M in purchase volume, and Thuan Nguyen of Loan Factory in California won the Refi category with almost $2B in refinances.
